They adorned the back pages of Famous Monsters magazine for years: "Monster Mail Order" masks in latex rubber designs, advertised as "producing a most life-like appearance" and perfect for "scaring friends and family silly"! Eager readers of the magazine stuffed their mailboxes with coupons and orders for the masks, as well as "giant flies", "life-sized Zacherleys", projectors, records, books, and whatever else they could get their hands on!
The masks themselves may be lost to dust, but their vintage likenesses will live on forever — most strikingly the visage of "Vampire Girl", who boasted sunken hollow eyes and cheekbones that could cut glass. Doesn't it feel like her eyes are staring into your very soul?
